Is it possible that the best ask price in order book be lower than the best bid price? In other words, if I place a limit buy order at a price higher than the best ask price, I know that my order will be executed immediately like a market order but I want to know if it first goes to order book (because it is a limit order) and updates the order book? If yes, then for just one moment the best ask price in the order book would be lower than the best bid price.

The only point at which this is possible is when there are no order on the ask side of the order book.

A limit order is only placed in the order book if it is not immediately filled.
